THE OBJECTIVES:

 

Master the essential steps for creating and making underwear.

Master the techniques and use of the sewing machine and serger.

Learn and practice the main sewing techniques.

 

THE PROGRAM:

 

Development of models and creation of basic patterns: bra, panties, thong, tanga, nightgown, tank top, shorts, pajamas, etc.

Interpretation of a drawing and creation of models from a drawing;

Pattern drafting;

Pattern alterations;

Assembly, fitting, and toile assembly;

Selection of fabrics and accessories;

Cutting method;

Assembly, fitting of the fabric model;

Model realization.

 

PEDAGOGICAL AND TECHNICAL MEANS:

 

Documentation, books, magazines, didactic outings (exhibitions, fashion shows, suppliers), classroom lessons, videos, practical demonstrations, workshops, will be used with the aim of teaching students to:

 

Master professional tools (sewing machine, serger, dress form);

Know the different fabrics, threads, pattern paper, needles, meter, ruler, etc.;

Draft patterns;

Learn different types of seams and assemblies;

Make different types of garments.

 

KNOWLEDGE ASSESSMENT METHODS:

 

Based on an imposed figurine or photo: pattern making and model fabrication.
